What is it?
Adobe Scan is a mobile application used to scan, save, archive and upload files. The app allows users to confidently capture papers and whiteboards with a mobile device and transform documents, forms, whiteboards, receipts and business cards into high-quality Adobe PDFs you can search, annotate, fill, sign and edit.
What is its purpose?
The primary purpose is to scan and save documents and photos into JPEG/PDF. It has modes for regular documents, forms, business cards and whiteboards. Adobe Scan can automatically pull data from business cards to create contacts, and text in the forms and documents is indexed for searching.
How do I use it?
First, the app must be downloaded from PlayStore (for Android users) or AppStore (for iOS users). A simple tap to open Acrobat Reader from Adobe Scan allows users to open scans in Adobe Acrobat Reader where they can easily annotate, highlight, and search text from their scans. When users subscribes to Acrobat Pro DC, images and text from thier scans become fully editable on a desktop. Their files are accessible from wherever someone uses Adobe Document Cloud - across desktop, mobile, and web.
Usage considerations
The ability to scan documents from different angles, especially from the side is limited.
You must sign up for an Adobe account to be able to use it.
There is a limit of 25 pages per scan.
