What is it?

Brosix is a live chat messenger used by many businesses and universities for communication purposes.

What is its purpose?

The primary purpose is to have a live chat with multiple or individual students at a time. This can also be used to have group chats, team meetings, questions and answers sessions, etc.

How do I use it?

Brosix requires users to sign up using the institutional email. It requires an invitation from the course instructor to start the conversation. It can be accessed through the Brosix website and Desktop version.

On Android phones, the app can be downloaded from Play Store. On iOS devices, it can be downloaded from App Store.

Why would I use it?

For students to communicate with the course instructor (for example, to ask questions during examination time).

Brosix contains a large number of features such as text chats, chat rooms, audio calls, video calls, broadcasting messages, offline text messaging, and a tabbed chat.

Brosix also has an additional file transfer function that students can use to submit their assignments or examination files through Brosix if they experience difficulties using a similar feature in  Brightspace.

Usage considerations

It can be accessed through the Brosix website. However, the web browser version on both PC and mobile devices provides a limited number of options. A desktop version is required to use all available options.
