Course Mail (Brightspace)

The course mail in Brightspace provides users with a mail account to send and receive mail from other users in Brightspace. Course mail accounts are internal to Brightspace. Users cannot send emails to or receive emails from external email accounts.
What is its purpose?
Course mail can be used as an instructional tool to inform one another about assignments, research materials, deadlines, deliver reports and help bridge gaps between students and instructors. With Course Mail being internal to Brightspace, instructors and students do not have to worry about spam filters or mistyped email addresses being a barrier to communication.
How do I use it?
All course sites within Brightspace can send course mail. On the course home page, click Course Mail and compose your message, add any attachments and send. You can also access it from the classlist by clicking Classlist, on the course home page and select the learners you would like to email.
