Spring semester: Support for remote teaching and learning
The spring semester is approaching, and in response to the need to transition face-to-face courses to remote delivery, we have three ways to provide academic units, instructors and students with the information and support you will need.
Academic Support Representatives
Academic Support Representatives (ASRs) have been made available to academic units, as they need them. ASRs provide units with access to one of our senior instructional designers or educational developers for advice on planning and preparation of remote courses; make recommendations on how to best facilitate remote instruction; and connect units with other CITL staff, services and resources.
Just-in-Time Support
Our Support Centre offers extended hours of support during evenings and weekends, and continues to provide instructors and students with just-in-time support. Contact us through the chat link above for: technical questions or assistance with courses in Brightspace; support with the Online Rooms virtual classroom environment; or to connect with our experts in instructional strategies, technical systems, media services, and online course exam administration.
Web Resources
We have a variety of online resources available to support remote teaching and learning. Our Instructional Continuity web pages provide instructors with information and approaches to consider when teaching remotely. For specific information about technologies and instructional strategies, instructors can refer to our Technology Resources and Instructional Resources websites respectively. For students, our Student Resources website provides information, technical resources and learning strategies to assist with learning remotely.
