Eligibility Requirements and Application Procedure

Program Description and Completion Requirements | Eligibility Requirements and Application Procedure | Responsibilities of Teaching Mentors

Eligibility

Memorial University graduate students (part or full-time) are eligible to apply for the Teaching Skills Enhancement Program (TSEP). Applicants must be registered in a graduate program of study for the academic year in which they are applying to the program.

By Dec. 1, 2018 participants in the program will be responsible for identifying a teaching mentor and an undergraduate course taught by their mentor in which they can participate.

Admittance

Enrolment is very limited and admittance is granted in the following order of priority until the maximum registration has been reached:

  1. Doctoral students
  2. Master's students
  3. Graduate diploma students

Within each of these categories, applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. When the maximum registration has been reached, a waitlist is created and all graduate students are added in the order in which their application is received. If space becomes available, admission is offered to waitlisted applicants according to position on the waitlist.

Please note, only fully-completed applications, with all required signatures, will be accepted.

Application

Graduate students interested in applying for the Teaching Skills Enhancement Program (TSEP) must complete and submit a TSEP Application Form. Only fully-completed applications, with all required signatures, will be accepted. Applicants are required to obtain signed approval for participation in the program from:

  1. Your research supervisor or graduate supervisor
  2. The department head or graduate officer of your academic unit.
